UK Athletics (UKA), the national governing body for the premier Olympic sport of athletics, has a vacancy for a Facilities, Health & Safety Manager due to the retirement of the current role holder.
This key post will provide the strategic lead for all of the UKA facilities incorporating planning, development and management, ensuring continuous development and successful delivery of programmes up to the 2017 Athletics World Championships in London and beyond. The role holder will determine the Health and Safety strategy for UKA, which includes development, implementation and governance, as well as overseeing the management of track certificates and maintenance of all UKA facilities and equipment.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a Facilities Management role including planning and development and Health & Safety responsibilities. Knowledge of H&S legislation and risk assessment is required and qualifications in Facilities Management would be an advantage.
Candidates must have an in depth knowledge of athletics tracks and a good understanding of the sports and leisure industry.
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability to develop relationships and influence at senior levels. Extensive car travel will be required on a weekly basis, so flexibility is essential.
