Virgin Active Chooses The 'Duracourt Collection'

01 May 2002

Duracourt's policy of offering a wide choice of top quality branded surfaces has helped land a prestigious contract to install twelve tennis courts with four different surfaces at the new Virgin Active tennis centre in Acton. Duracourt has started work on 4 Porous Kushion KourtTM free draining acrylic courts, 3 Porous Klay KourtTM synthetic clay courts, 3 TigerTurf® sand-filled grass courts, and 2 DuraporeTM multi-use macadam courts all of which are due for completion this summer. Porous Kushion KourtTM and Porous Klay KourtTM were selected because Virgin Active specified 12-month playability and these specialised acrylic and clay surfaces from The Duracourt Collection uniquely allow this. Virgin Active's choice of Duracourt was also influenced by the successful construction in 2001 of fifteen courts and multi-use areas with a similar mix of surfaces at the nearby Westway Centre for the Kensington Amenity Trust, which despite difficult site constraints, was completed on time and within budget.
