Abacus Expands UK Sales Team

Sutton in Ashfield-based Abacus Lighting is pleased to announce the appointment of Tony Bennett to the role of Key Account Executive (UK Sports).  Tony joins the company at an exciting time as the company looks towards celebrating its 50th anniversary later this year.
Abacus is a multi-disciplined company specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of exterior lighting systems and architectural canopies.  The company has developed a reputation for being one of the world’s leading sports lighting specialists but also offers lighting solutions for airports; docks; harbours; station platforms; motorways and general amenity lighting areas. 

Tony joins Abacus from Musco where he was responsible for the sales of its sports lighting systems throughout the UK.  A lighting sales professional with over twenty years’ experience in the lighting industry, Tony possesses an excellent knowledge of the lighting requirements for most types of sports, as well as those for commercial/industrial applications. 

UK Sales Director, Paul Wilson commented: “Tony is a great asset to our sales team and brings considerable knowledge of how to evaluate and overcome the environment and planning issues that are increasingly having an impact on sports lighting applications.”

Another new recruit to the sales team is Martin Oliver, who joins Abacus as a Regional Sales Manager responsible for London West.  Martin comes to Abacus from Holophane, having previously worked for Philips and WRTL Lighting.  He will be responsible for promoting Abacus’s range of architectural and amenity lighting products.

Martin commented:  “I’m really pleased to be joining Abacus.  I have been familiar with the company for 30 years and am very impressed with its quality product range and good reputation in the industry. I’m looking forward to becoming a valued member of the Abacus family.”
