Conica Makes Tracks in Europe

12 July 2002

CONIPUR M and Conipur ISP Sprint, athletics surfaces from Conica Technik, have been chosen for several prestigious tracks in Europe against stiff oposition.

Conipur ISP Sprint, a “sandwich-type” surfacing system, has been chosen by Birmingham City Council, Sport England and UK Athletics for the National Indoor Training Centre at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.

The surface will be installed during the autumn this year, as part of a £2.5 million scheme, largely financed by a grant from the Lottery Sports Fund. Conipur ISP Sprint not only conforms to the IAAF’s performance specifications, but was selected as a result of it being able to meet the training venue’s specific need for a minimum force reduction of 40%.

Conipur M, a solid polyurethane product that also complies with IAAF performance requirements, has been chosen for the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, Germany, as well as the Marmi and Olympic stadia in Rome, Italy.

The installation of the 7,700 sq. m. track at the Olympic Stadium in Rome has just been completed.
