Former England Rugby Captain and Wasps star Lawrence Dallaglio opened one of the latest artificial sports pitch projects installed by Blakedown Sport and Play, on Tuesday 4th December 2007 at Richmond House, Hampton.

The £100,000 all weather multi-use games area boasts an Edel Soft sand-filled artificial surface specially designed for 5-a-side football, basketball and tennis use.  The facility was complete with raised wooden seating, a new paved area and landscaping, which were completed by Blakedown Landscapes (SE).

Richmond House, a specialist school for children with behavioural problems, is part of the Hampton Community College, which is a specialist arts college in London.

Both Richmond Council and the Wooden Spoon Society, a rugby charity supporting disadvantaged children and young people, donated greatly to the cause.

Lawrence Dallaglio, Honorary President of the Middlesex region of the Wooden Spoon Society said, "Good job, well done Blakedown.  These opportunities are great for providing sports facilities to kids. Sport has given me a huge amount of happiness in my life and it gives me great pleasure to open this sports area for the children of Richmond House."
