Polytan (UK) Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Polytan Sportstattenbau GmbH based in Germany who have been manufacturing and installing synthetic sports surfaces throughout the world for 40 years.

Polytan manufactures the polyurethanes used in our athletics track systems, the yarns used in our comprehensive range of synthetic turf surfaces together with adhesives and specialist line marking paints at our manufacturing plant in Grefrath.

Polytan (UK) Limited has been installing synthetic sports surfaces in the UK since 1991. During that time we have been awarded a large number of athletic track and synthetic turf contracts throughout the UK and Ireland.  One of the earliest projects was the resurfacing of the athletics track at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in 1993 and again in 2004.

We were also awarded the contract to install one of the first Football Academy synthetic turf pitches for Liverpool FC. More recently the company installed its Ligaturf football specific surface at FC Saltzburg and Young Boys of Berne that are being used for matches in the Austrian and Swiss first divisions, and Montrose FC and the New Saints FC that are used for SFA 3rd division and Welsh League matches.

Our Ligaturf surface has also been installed at many locations in the UK such as the training/academy facilities at Everton FC, Aberdeen FC, at Saltley Leisure Centre and is currently being  installed on an indoor pitch for Aberdeen University.

Polytan UK is the only company that manufactures and installs its own sports surfacing systems. This means our clients can rely on the very best post installation support as all responsibility for the surface is ours as opposed to a contractor/installer/manufacturer association that often breaks down due to divided responsibility.

Polytan through its wealth of experience, from a strong practical and R&D platform, is able to offer its clients an all encompassing service providing well tested surfacing systems that meet all the requirements of the international governing bodies for sport such as the IAAF, FIH, EHA, FIFA, UEFA and BS7044 that are installed by our trained installation teams.
