The Team
Liz Behnke
Liz has acquired a wide range of skills during her twenty years in the leisure industry. Her particular area of expertise is in inward investment not only as assessor and advisor, but also as applicant. Her management work in the private, voluntary and public sectors has lead her to both design and develop facilities and subsequently operate them.

Projects have covered numerous sports and leisure activities, with budgets ranging from the very small to nine figures.

Liz is an experienced Sports Development Officer who has worked in rural, urban and inner city environments.

During her career she has been involved with writing and developing leisure strategies, facility plans and research projects. Furthermore, she is a well respected trainer and facilitator.

Mike Behnke
Mike has held a variety of roles in the public and voluntary sectors of the sport and leisure industry. His broad background has seen him develop and successfully implement policies and strategies for sport at all levels, whether local, regional or national.

Mike is a specialist in equity and is a case manager for Sporting Equals.  He also has many years of experience in volunteer and club development. Besides his expertise in sports science and medicine, he has considerable experience of events management for a wide range of audiences.

Mike is a qualified teacher with a thorough knowledge and understanding of the education sector. In addition, Mike has a good understanding of Slavic
languages and is a fluent Polish speaker.
