Aims of the ISEA
The principal aim of the ISEA is to act as a forum to discuss technical issues relating to sport. The Association also aims to act as the interface between those carrying out research in sports engineering related topics such as industry, governing bodies, media and education. A by-product of this will be increased enjoyment of the average user through research and improved understanding of science by the public.
The ISEA will achieve these aims through the following
-
a biannual international conference
-
a quality international Journal called 'Sports Engineering'
-
a database of researchers carrying out sports engineering relating projects
-
direct links to the sports products industry
-
membership directory
-
an internet/email discussion bulletin board
-
job vacancies service
-
website
The Journal
Sports Engineering is in its 11th year of publication, publishing quality papers on the application of engineering and technology to sport. The Journal intends to fill the niche area which lies between classical engineering and sports science and aims to bridge the gap between the analysis of the equipment and the athlete. Members of the ISEA receive the journal as part of their subscription.
