Established in 1968, Blakedown Holdings has grown and diversified into the national company it is today, encompassing Blakedown Landscapes and Blakedown Sport & Play.

Blakedown Sport & Play specialise in the construction of a range of sport and play facilities.

We provide a comprehensive range of quality sports surfaces, including 3rd generation rubber infill, sand and water based sports pitches, athletic tracks, bowling greens, play areas, skateparks, netball and tennis courts, natural turf pitches and golf courses, all with a design and build capability where required.

As a market leader within the industry, we enjoy long-standing relationships with many local authorities and educational establishments and rely on our reputation for quality, reliability, cost effective methods and commitment to secure a scheme, taking pride in not only meeting the customers’ expectations but exceeding them wherever possible.

We have a dedicated and fully qualified team of technical staff and contract managers, covering the whole of the UK, with over 40 years experience in the industry, we are very unique as we directly employ the majority of our site workers to ensure a top quality installation from start to finish.

Blakedown Sport & Play have constructed a number of top class sports facilities throughout the country including Queen Elizabeth II Stadium, in Enfield where Lord Sebastian Coe trained for the 1984 Olympics.

Other major projects for Blakedown Sport & Play include a full size 3rd generation pitch at Lancaster & Morecambe College constructed in accordance with IRB specification plus acrylic coated macadam courts, all built as part of a £1.2 million redevelopment project at the college. Also a three-phase project at William Brookes School  in Shropshire saw a new full size sand-filled surface built plus a 200m 6 lane running track with 8 lane sprint, phase 2 was the construction of two macadam MUGA’s, finally a natural rugby pitch completed the works for phase 3 at the school.
 
Blakedown Sport & Play are a key partner with Goals Soccer Centres plc constructing multiple 5-a-side 3rd generation football centres throughout the UK,  including Star City in Birmingham, the first ever Goals Soccer Centre in the UK to be constructed on the roof of a multi storey car park.
